Meet Recap

Southwest Girls Golf Sectional at Hamilton Elks was everything we bargained for and more! But on the bright side Northwest was represented by a team in this event for the first time in eight years. Abby Cira, Senior, Karley Woods, Senior, Caitlin Scheib, Junior and Morgan Hughes Sophomore teed off early in what was one of the more pleasant days for golf all year. On the not so bright side, one of team members who had struggled throughout the round with errant shots, discovered she was out of golf balls, which unfortunately is an automatic disqualification. So without a fourth score we did not get to finish as a team on the scoreboard, but with some of the other good scores the team put up we would have finished up from the bottom of the pack. Great job girls, I need to get my equipment manager, Mike Miller, to do a better job of providing golf balls to the girls. Great season Ladies.

Meet Recap

Good battle at Circling Hills. Both teams had 3 seniors and the score might have been closer for NW, only the second time at Circling Hills this year for the Knights. The camaraderie was great and we congratulate our Cardinal friends for the victory. Morgan Hughes was our medalist with a 48, one of the other best rounds for us was Karley Woods with a 53. Congratulations to all of the Seniors completing their final match rounds, we will miss our Seniors Abby Cira, Symone Green and Karley Woods.

Meet Recap

Finally allowed to get on, email, password, all my own clumsiness, but alas some good news about 2017 SWOC golf tournament. In spite of the day getting dangerously warm/humid, our ladies persevered over 18 holes at Miami-Whitewater Golf Course. At the turn we were threatening to be in the top two teams, but our lack experience with full day golf experiences got the best of us. We finished 4th, outlasting Talawanda and Ross and narrowly missing beating Little Miami, just 3 strokes. Good news had Sophomore Morgan Hughes with the 3rd best score of the day, electing her to the 1st Team All League honors, and her Junior teammate, Caitlin Scheib shooting well enough to get 2nd Team All League honors. Senior Abby Cira had our third best score of the day, was Honorable Mention All-League and her two Senior teammates, Symone Green and Karley Woods, who had to wait
for almost an hour to tee-off, competed courageously. Karley was recognized as our League Sportsmanship Award winner, partly because she is also known as “Coach Karley”
